Het artikel beschrijft en onderzoekt casestudies bij vijf bedrijven, die met succes een FWTA policy opgenomen hebben.&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span><span>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Het aantal klanten dat een winkel ontvangt verschilt per dag, week, en maand. Hierom is het soms nodig dat werknemers meer werken, en soms minder.&nbsp;<\/span><span>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span>Flexible working-time arrangements (FWTAs) zijn arrangementen die tot stand zijn gekomen in een discussie tussen werknemer en werkgever om tot overeenstemming te komen over de werktijden.&nbsp; De auteurs menen dat een FWTA voordelen kan hebben voor zowel werkgevers als werknemers. Werkgevers kunnen op deze manier op elke dag het juiste aantal werknemers in huis hebben, en werknemers kunnen door hun eigen inspraak beter omgaan met hun hoeveelheid werk en priv&eacute;leven.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span><span>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span>Casestudies<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span>Bij de bedrijven Colruyt, V&amp;D, Nido, CabTec en Audi werd de effectiviteit van FWTA onderzocht door middel van interviews met mensen van alle hi&euml;rarchische lagen van het bedrijf, van company management tot&nbsp; werknemers van de vloer. Ook werd gekeken naar relevante documenten zoals werktijd planningen, resultaatcijfers, en de resultaten van werknemersurveys van het bedrijf zelf. De auteurs leidden hier uit af dat een goede FWTA een gelijkwaardige dialoog vereist tussen werknemersvertegenwoordigers en het bedrijf. De auteurs menen dat de effectiviteit van de FWTA&rsquo;s voor een belangrijk deel afhankelijk is van deze gelijkwaardige onderhandelingen met een evenwichtige uitkomst die de belangen behartigt van zowel werknemer als werkgever.<\/span><span>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span>Conclusie<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span>Goed uitgevoerde FWTA&rsquo;s bleken gunstig voor zowel werknemers als werkgevers. De productiviteit van de bedrijven ging omhoog en kosten voor overwerk en onderbenutting van personeel werden gereduceerd. Werknemers hadden een hogere baangarantie en gaven aan meer tevreden te zijn met hun baan.
