De cases zijn twee bedrijven in de publieke sector: een afdeling Intensive Care van een academisch ziekenhuis en een gemeentelijke school voor primair en secundair (onderbouw) onderwijs. De twee private ondernemingen zijn: een leverancier van bouwmaterialen en een commerci&euml;le bank, onderdeel van een Zweedse bank.<\/p>\n<p>Het gaat in alle vier gevallen om organisaties die hebben ge&iuml;nvesteerd in nieuwe technologie, niet om op (personeels)kosten te besparen maar om in de eerste plaats hun diensten kwalitatief te verbeteren. Zij hebben daarbij bovendien hun werknemers uitgerust met de benodigde competenties om de mogelijkheden van deze nieuwe technologie te benutten. De vragen die voor Shapiro centraal stonden waren: hoe deze strategische benadering van een technologische innovatie de functie-inhoud en vereiste competenties positief heeft be&iuml;nvloed en hoe medewerkers in dit hele proces werden betrokken.<\/p>\n<p>In de conclusies beschrijft de auteur enkele parameters die voor een positief resultaat essentieel zijn, zoals:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Zichtbaar management en een leiderschapscultuur met een lange termijn visie op de toegevoegde waarde van digitalisering; het management moet bovendien in staat zijn die visie over te dragen en om werknemers in het veranderingsproces te betrekken.<\/li>\n<li>Implementatie wordt opgevat als een organisatieveranderingsproces en niet als een ICT-project.<\/li>\n<li>Voor SME&rsquo;s is proefdraaien in &lsquo;learning labs&rsquo; (zoals de &lsquo;future-of-work labs&rsquo; van het Frauenhofer Instituut) van groot belang<\/li>\n<li>De te implementeren technologie wordt door het management noch door ICT consultants gepresenteerd als een compleet uit-ontwikkelde oplossing.<\/li>\n<li>De aanpak houdt de volgende stappen in: onderzoeken, experimenteren en leren.<\/li>\n<li>De werknemers worden in een vroeg stadium geraadpleegd als het initiatief niet al vanuit de hoek van de medewerkers is gekomen.<\/li>\n<li>Medewerkers worden gezien als bron, niet als kostenpost.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Referentie<br \/><\/strong>Shapiro, Hanne. &lsquo;<em>Digitalisation, jobs and competences &ndash; emerging innovative practices&rsquo;.
