De studie betreft 51 Europese bedrijven.<\/p>\n<p> Workplace innovation (WPI) betreft het soort beleid dat werknemers in staat stelt mee te praten en deel te nemen in de veranderingen binnen hun organisatie. Door WPI kunnen organisaties beter gebruik maken van de talenten en vaardigheden van hun werknemers, en tegelijkertijd innovatie aanscherpen en hun concurrentiepositie verbeteren. Bij WPI beleid gebeurt dit op zo&rsquo;n manier dat ook de kwaliteit van de arbeid &nbsp;beter wordt. Daarom &nbsp;is het belangrijk voor beleidsmakers om te weten hoe ze WPI kunnen stimuleren.<\/p>\n<p> De auteurs ontwikkelden een speciale WPI index om de 51 organisaties die bestudeerd &nbsp;zijn te selecteren. Een kwalitatieve vergelijkende analyse werd uitgevoerd om de WPI condities binnen deze bedrijven te onderzoeken.<\/p>\n<p> <\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span><strong>Redenen om WPI te implementeren<br \/> <\/strong>Organisaties &nbsp;implementeerden WPI voornamelijk om de effici&euml;ntie te verbeteren, een betere concurrentiepositie te behalen en om het innovatieve vermogen van de organisatie te verbeteren. Vanuit de kant van de managers en werknemers waren vooral economische en organisatiedoelen de belangrijkste redenen om WPI te implementeren. En de mogelijkheid voor werknemers om iets nieuws te leren of zichzelf te ontwikkelen worden ook beschouwd als belangrijke redenen om WPI te implementeren.<\/p>\n<p> <\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span><strong>Soorten WPI<br \/> <\/strong>In de 51 bestudeerde cases in het rapport onderscheiden &nbsp;de auteurs vijf beleidssoorten. Van deze 5 soorten waren er 3 direct gerelateerd aan WPI: WPI-structure (14% beleid gerelateerd aan teamwork, functie-ontwerp en reorganisatie), WPI-culture (20% beleid dat communicatie verbetert, het delen van kennis bevordert en werknemers en managers een stem geeft in de veranderingen van het bedrijf), en WPI-mixed (19%, een combinatie van WPI-structure en WPI-culture). De andere 2 beleidsvormen waren niet direct &nbsp;aan WPI gerelateerd en waren HR beleid (39%) en overig beleid zoals technologie-gerelateerde interventies (8%). De auteurs vonden ook dat organisaties veel verschilden in de manieren waarop WPI ge&iuml;mplementeerd werd. Dit impliceert dat er meerdere wegen zijn om een succesvol WPI bedrijf te worden en dat bedrijven zelf kunnen kiezen hoe ze WPI willen ontwikkelen.<\/p>\n<p> <\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span><strong>Impact van WPI implementatie<br \/> <\/strong>De auteurs concludeerden &nbsp;dat het voor succesvolle WPI essentieel is dat werknemers een centrale rol spelen &nbsp;bij de implementatie hiervan. De meerderheid van de respondenten waren het erover eens dat de drie factoren die de implementatie van WPI het meest faciliteren waren: &nbsp;de deelname van werknemers, steun vanuit topmanagement, en leiderschap. &nbsp;De uitkomsten van succesvolle WPI voor organisaties waren betere deelname van werknemers, meer duurzaamheid en betere prestaties. De voordelen van succesvolle WPI voor werknemers waren meer leermogelijkheden, uitdagendere banen en de overtuiging dat men meer inspraak heeft in organisatorische besluitvoering.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><strong>Beleidsadvies<br \/> <\/strong>De auteurs pleiten ervoor datbedrijven zich niet alleen concentreren op economische initiatieven, technologische innovatie en onderzoeksprogramma&rsquo;s. Maar ook op het implementeren van WPI-beleid. Om dit te kunnen realiseren moeten beleidsmakers en bedrijven zich richten op (selectie van beleidsadvies uit het rapport):<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Het aanmoedigen van laagdrempelige benaderingen voor bedrijven.
