WPI is een benadering gericht op een organisatieverandering die participatieve praktijken aanmoedigt en zal leiden tot betere prestaties van de organisatie.<\/p>\n<p>Aan WPI worden zes componenten onderscheiden:<\/p>\n<p>a. Een strategische ori\u00ebntatie op WPI (verg. \u2018dynamisch managen\u2019)<\/p>\n<p>b. Interne flexibiliteit of flexibele organisatie<\/p>\n<p>c. Vermogen tot zelforganisatie<\/p>\n<p>d. Ontwikkeling van talenten<\/p>\n<p>e. Investeringen in kennis<\/p>\n<p>f. Duurzame inzetbaarheid.<\/p>\n<p>De afhankelijke variabele \u2018prestaties van de organisatie\u2019 valt uiteen in vier elementen<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Groei van de opbrengst\/winst<\/li>\n<li>Ontwikkeling van nieuwe producten<\/li>\n<li>Duurzame ontwikkeling<\/li>\n<li>Daling verzuimpercentage.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hypothes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In het onderzoek werden 8 (1,\u00a0 2a,b,c,d,e,f en 3) getoetst.<\/p>\n<p>H1. WPI heeft een positieve relatie met de prestatie van de organisatie.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>H2a. Een strategische ori\u00ebntatie op WPI, die ook leidt tot veranderingen in de organisatiestructuur <em>(autonomie, beslissingsruimte, zelforganisatie en toegang tot informatie)<\/em> correleert hoog met de prestaties van de organisatie.<\/p>\n<p>H2b. De ruimte voor zelforganisatie heeft een positieve relatie met de prestaties van de organisatie.<\/p>\n<p>H2c. Interne flexibiliteit heeft een positieve relatie met de prestaties van de organisatie<\/p>\n<p>H2d. Beleid gericht op Duurzame inzetbaarheid heeft een positieve relatie met de prestaties van de organisatie<\/p>\n<p>H2e. Investeringen in kennis van de medewerkers heeft een positieve relatie met de prestaties van de organisatie<\/p>\n<p>H2f. Talent-ontwikkeling heeft een positieve relatie met de prestaties van de organisatie.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>H3. De hotel-sector doet minder aan WPI dan overige bedrijven.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Resultaten<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hypothese 1 wordt ondersteund. Naarmate hotels meer investeren in WPI zijn er betere prestaties van de organisatie: de winst groeit, er worden meer nieuwe producten ontwikkeld en er wordt beter gepresteerd op duurzaamheid. Het ziekteverzuimpercentage daalt.<\/p>\n<p>Hotels blijken minder vaak dan andere bedrijven workplace innovation\/sociale innovatie toe te passen. Hypothese 3 wordt dus ondersteund.<\/p>\n<p>Naar mate er in hotels meer strategische ori\u00ebntatie was op WPI werden er meer positieve effecten geconstateerd op de vier afhankelijke factoren: groei in opbrengst, ontwikkeling van nieuwe producten, duurzame ontwikkeling en verzuim. Hiermee wordt Hypothese 2a ondersteund.<\/p>\n<p>Ook de Hypotheses 2b en 2f werden bevestigd.<\/p>\n<p>Dat gold gedeeltelijk ook voor H2c en e, voor deze condities werd geen positieve relatie met de ontwikkeling van nieuwe producten gevonden.<\/p>\n<p>Hypothese 2d. kon niet worden getoetst, vanwege beperkte respons op gerelateerde vragen.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conclusie<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hotels zouden moeten investeren in WPI om hun prestaties te verbeteren, mede omdat zij daardoor ook beter van nieuwe technologie\u00ebn kunnen profiteren.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Referentie<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Stoffers, Jol; Eringa, Klaes; Niks, Jannie; Kleefstra, Anne.
